7 wonders: fried fish

cornbread fried fish on a stick

Since the lighthouse at Alexandria had the world’s first touristy boardwalk, I figured they must have had corndogs   fishdogs  fish on a stick with corndog breading, or something equivalent for the time. The fish (pollack) got really messy, per above, but it was insanely delicious, and everyone was licking those crumbs off the plates. Alas, the computer I had the recipe on died and took the corndog batter with it, but here is Alton Brown’s version which I think must be better than mine (though for fish, better to have fewer bits in it or it will weigh the fish down)
