The Banana Banquet: Chocolates dipped in banana

No you didn’t read it backwards…

Ingredients:

  • 12 oz bittersweet chocolate chips
  • 6 oz white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup + 3 TB cream
  • 2 TB banana extract

In a metal bowl that fits on top of a small pot, add chocolate chips and 1 cup of cream. Boil water in a pot and put the bowl on top of the pot, so that the steam heats the chocolate. Whisk together the chocolate and cream over this heat until well-combined, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until the chocolate has hardened. When it is hard, scoop it out into little balls and roll them in your palms to make them round, then put the balls back into the refrigerator. Again take a metal bowl, this time adding the white chocolate and the 3 TB cream. When they’ve melted together, add the banana extract – the mixture may seize up but it will become smooth again. Take the chocolate balls out of the fridge, and put a dollop of white chocolate on top of each ball, then put them back into the fridge to harden.
